Scholarship Applications Prospective PhD candidates are invited to submit research proposals on policies related to Immigration, Integration and Cultural Diversity immigrants (political science or other social sciences) as they relate to European Studies.

Scholarship Applications research project should be in line with IES research strategy that focuses on the European Union in an international candidate who successfully context.The will have an MA with good study results. They will be fluent in English and have a thorough knowledge of European policy in the field. The IES can help candidates who succeed in finding a suitable (co-) promoter in the VUB. Co-Promotership from Belgium or other foreign universities are encouraged. Successful candidates are expected to base themselves in Brussels, to work at IES.

MSc In International Accounting And Finance Scholarships Applications


This Scholarships Applications means that the successful candidates will pay no course fees in September 2011 if they are home/EU fee category students. Overseas fee paying students are also encouraged to apply and would pay the difference between home and overseas fees.

Scholarships Applications
Complete the MSc in International Accounting and Finance Scholarship Application Form ensuring that all sections are answered legibly. Pay particular attention to the section which requires a handwritten statement of approximately 500 words on why a Scholarship would help you, and what your career or educational aims are for the five year period after you graduate from the Investment Analysis course. The closing date for receipt of applications is 5pm GMT on 30 June 2011. Please note that the Scholarships will be allocated in July and therefore if you are applying both for the Scholarships and the Investment Analysis course close to the 30 June deadline, you should ensure that your course application is complete.

Scholarships Applications Applicants may be of any nationality and must hold or expect to obtain an offer of a place on the full time MSc in International Accounting and Finance for entry in September 2011. PhD Position Scholarship Applications at Ghent University

PhD Scholarship Applications Candidate in Environmental Economics


The aim Scholarship Applications of a newly established and ambitious research team (with funding from a NWO-VIDI grant) is to develop global economic policy instruments to protect biodiversity and ecosystem services. The research team, consisting of two PhD students and a VIDI laureate, will pursue the following three key objectives:

development of an indicator for biodiversity as a leverage point for global economic instruments (PhD-project ecology)
development of economic policy instruments for protecting global biodiversity and associated ecosystem services (PhD-project economics)
development of moral principles for international allocation of responsibilities (burden-sharing) to protect global biodiversity

This Scholarship Applications project is unique in at least two ways. First, it explicitly investigates the long-term situation at a global level, and second, it takes a truly interdisciplinary approach integrating ecology, economics and moral philosophy.

PhD Research Fellowship in Mechatronics

The University of Agder invites applications for a full-time fixed-term appointment as PhD Research Fellow in Mechatronics for a period of three years at the Faculty of Engineering and Science. The purpose of the PhD position is research training leading to the successful completion of a doctoral degree. The position is currently located in Grimstad, Norway. The starting date in 2011 is negotiable.

PhD Candidate:

The PhD candidate will participate in the activities of the NORCOWE research centre (Norwegian Centre for Offshore Wind Energy), with a particular focus on marine operations. During installation and maintenance of offshore wind turbines, new systems are needed for compensation of wave-induced motion. UiA has recently purchased a new Stewart platform for motion compensation, and this equipment will form the basis for the experimental work in the research project. The goal of the PhD project is to design and test new concepts for motion compensation.

The following qualifications will be particularly emphasised:

* Strong academic skills in the following areas: modelling and simulation, hydraulics, electrical drives, control systems and instrumentation
* Experience with the SimulationX simulation software platform
* Theoretical and practical experience with motion compensation and Stewart platforms

The Successful Applicant:

The successful applicant will have a master’s degree in a relevant field and must be enthusiastic and greatly interested in basic and experimental research.

The PhD Research Fellow:

The PhD Research Fellow must be admitted to the PhD Programme in Mechatronics within three months after the starting date.
